Dear readers,

It is a great pleasure to present you our project! At a moment when artificial intelligence is reshaping the practice of law, business, and medicine, the need for thoughtful and accessible dialogue has never been greater. This webzine serves as a “bridge” born from that need. You can read more in our ABOUT section.

Our mission is simple, yet ambitious: to create a global living forum where academics, practitioners, and independent thinkers can contribute freely to the evolving conversation around AI. Whether exploring regulatory frameworks, ethical dilemmas in clinical applications, or the transformation of enterprise decision-making, we aim to bridge disciplines that too often operate in isolation.

We believe that knowledge advances most meaningfully, when it’s shared without barriers. That’s why this platform is non-commercial and open to contributors from across the globe. No paywalls, no publication fees, no subscriptions, just a commitment to substance, clarity and intellectual honesty. Our aspiration is to grow into a trusted reference point for the global AI community.

Building this platform proved to be far from a simple undertaking. What made it possible, what truly carried it forward after long days of preparations, was the enthusiasm of our volunteers. Across borders and time zones, from Portugal to South Korea and from the Netherlands to Tunisia, individuals came together with a shared sense of purpose that was nothing short of remarkable. Their energy, commitment, and belief in this collective vision transformed a challenging idea into a living reality.

To our volunteers: this project stands on your dedication. You bring not only technical expertise and organizational skill, but also a rare clarity of purpose. Your work reflects a deep respect for both the contributors and the audience, and a shared belief that this effort serves something larger than any one of us.

To our contributors and readers: you are not passive participants. You are co-authors of an ongoing conversation that will influence how AI is understood and applied across critical domains of society. This project belongs to all of us. As we move forward, this platform will only be as strong as the community that shapes it.

For our inaugural April 2026 issue, we feature a curated selection of insights on the intersection of Legal and Business AI, alongside our essential bulletins. We are exceptionally pleased to include a welcoming salutation from Valia Kordoni and a special contribution from Thordur Arnason, both of whose distinctive voices and rigorous expertise provide a foundational perspective on the shifts we are witnessing.

Starting next month, I am delighted to hand over the editorial lead to our amazing Chief Editor, Meriem Kilani. I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Constantinos Iliopoulos and Vasilios Dimitrakis for their collaboration in bringing this digital platform to life.

To all of you, HeckelAI.com is an invitation to learn, to question, to contribute and to collaborate. Think, write, hit submit and let’s make a stir that matters!
