Somi Jeong

 

Somi Jeong is an AI engineer and researcher based in Seoul, pursuing a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence Systems at Hanyang University, with a background in autonomous driving software. Her work spans multimodal AI, NLP, and computer vision, with peer-reviewed research on LLM bias and Responsible AI.

She has built AI systems that serve public safety, legal access, environmental monitoring, and disability inclusion, including Shellter (a legal AI chatbot), BridgeCast AI (bridging sign language and spoken communication), and a groundwater contamination tracker. She also holds two patents and contributes to the Korean localization of Apache Airflow, Kubernetes, and Hugging Face LeRobot. She is driven by the belief that AI, at its best, is a tool for work that truly matters to people.
